About Us
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization made up of eligible veterans and military service members from the active-duty, Guard, and Reserve forces who have served in overseas conflicts. The VFW traces its origins to 1899, when veterans returning from the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection came home wounded, ill, and largely unsupported. With no established system for medical care, pensions, or benefits, these veterans relied on one another—forming local organizations to advocate for their rights and care for their fellow service members. Those early efforts in states like Ohio, Colorado, and Pennsylvania grew into a national movement that today includes more than 1.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary.
VFW Post 6393, located in Yardley, Pennsylvania, proudly carries forward that legacy of service and advocacy at the local level. Our Post exists to ensure that veterans who served overseas are supported, respected, and never forgotten. We assist veterans and their families in navigating earned benefits, provide help during times of hardship, and serve as a strong voice for veterans’ issues within our community. Just as importantly, Post 6393 offers a place of camaraderie—where veterans from all eras can connect, share experiences, and continue the bonds formed through service.
Deeply rooted in the Yardley community, VFW Post 6393 is committed to giving back. We support local schools, youth and scholarship programs, first responders, and patriotic and civic events, while honoring those currently serving and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Through advocacy, service, remembrance, and community leadership, VFW Post 6393 honors the past while continuing to serve today—ensuring no veteran stands alone and that the values of duty, sacrifice, and service endure for generations to come.
